The Lower Zambezi is one of the few conservation success stories in modern times. This is due to a small group of Zambia safari operators banding together, forming and supporting Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ), which facilitates all the conservation activity in the Lower Zambezi. CLZ is a role model that has been emulated with varying degrees of success in Africa, but nowhere else stands such a facility with such support, providing such effective conservation activity. For instance, significantly reducing levels of poaching, whereas elsewhere in Africa this scourge is on the rise.
